Chris Ruiz - Founder & CEO, Bloom Bioscience
Chris Ruiz is a passionate advocate for the health and wellbeing of both pets and people. With a background in nutrition, engineering, and physics, he brings a unique blend of scientific precision and hands-on experience to the pet wellness space. As the founder of Bloom BioScience, he leads a team committed to developing clean, clinically grounded supplements that support long-term health for cats and dogs.
Chris’s mission is shaped by more than two decades of grassroots rescue work. After years of treating community and feral cats with conditions like UTIs, URIs, FeLV, FIV, and CKD, where supplementation was often the only viable option, he developed a deep understanding of what truly supports healing. These practical insights became the foundation of Bloom’s formulation strategy.
Under his leadership, Bloom has pioneered research into electrolyte balance, vascular health, oxidative stress, and the role of zeta potential in hydration. His work led to the development of Bloom’s signature formulas, including:
-Revita-Life (Revitalize Health & Immunity) for oxidative stress support
-Hydro-Life (Revitalize Hydration) for electrolyte and hydration balance
-Hemo-Life for Pets for vascular and circulatory health
Beyond product innovation, Chris is deeply committed to animal advocacy. He co-founded I Once Was Lost, a dog sanctuary near Austin, and launched World Paws, a low-cost FIP treatment initiative. Thirty percent of proceeds from World Paws help fund organizations including Austin Pets Alive, the Cheetah Conservation Fund, and other local and global rescues.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, and is a licensed professional engineer in both California and Texas. Today, he continues to lead Bloom’s scientific vision with a clear commitment to making real, research-based wellness accessible to every pet.
